Every day over 35,000 children die from starvation. Kenya is a 300 acre breeding ground for everything wrong in Africa. Some people only make as little as $1.20 a day. AIDS has orphaned half a million children. 1.5 million Children have lost one or both parents to AIDS. Statistics show that within ten years 1 out of every 5 children will be an orphan. More then half a million Nairobians live in slums, and nearly half the population live in poverty. Most have no roads, running water, plumbing, electricity and are living surrounded by garbage. One well-known place is called Kiberia, Africa's largest slum. 150 million children suffer from malnutrition. This devastating cycle begins with hunger and leads to malnutrition, sickness, and eventually causing death. Every day 700 people die in Kenya, usually from AIDS and/or hunger. Many of those people are children. Hundreds of orphans live in Cabara. Children have to drop out of school because their parents can't afford it or they are taking care of their extremely sick parents. Some children as young as eight years old have to live on their own and raise there very own siblings, since their parents have lost the battle of AIDS or because their father have abandoned them after their mother passed.
There is a program called "FEED THE CHILDREN" and have been for 29 years. They have shipped millions and billions of meals all over the globe. They have helped many children and their families in 118 different countries around the globe. By simply donating 21 cents you can give a well nourished meal to a starving child for a day.
Please keep in mind that the next time your stomach is growling or your very hungry put yourself in there spot and think of how they feel after two days without eating.
